Dawn Farm Addiction and Recovery Education Series

Jul 4, 2015

It Takes a Family: A Cooperative Approach to Lasting Sobriety” was presented on June 30, 2015; by Debra Jay, Internationally-known Interventionist and chemical dependency specialist, speaker and trainer; popular media personality; co-author of the best-selling “Love First: A Family’s Guide to Intervention;” author of the newly-released “It Takes a Family: A Cooperative Approach to Lasting Sobriety” and other popular books.  Addiction is often described as a “family disease” – but up until now, families have been mostly left out of the recovery equation, which surely contributes to the ubiquitous nature of relapse. Structured Family Recovery™ starts with a family and ends with a family recovery team. It unlocks the secrets of lasting sobriety––those used to keep addicted doctors sober––and makes them available to families. Debra Jay has created a family recovery program that both revolutionizes recovery and brings it back to its roots. This presentation will describe Structured Family Recovery,™ how it is implemented to transform families into recovery teams, and how the newly recovering person is invited to join the team. This will bring PRACTICAL INFORMATION, HELP and HOPE to individuals and families affected by addiction and to anyone who wants to learn about Structured Family Recovery™ from the expert who developed and literally “wrote the book” on this technique. This program is part of the Dawn Farm Education Series, a FREE, annual workshop series developed to provide accurate, helpful, hopeful, practical, current information about chemical dependency, recovery, family and related issues.  The Education Series is organized by Dawn Farm, a non-profit community of programs providing a continuum of chemical dependency services.
